THE VAMPIRE MEME

This meme is all about our favorite "drains" on society, the vampires - and with hundreds of years of books, theater, movies, comics and more to draw from, there's no wrong way to be a vamp. If you need help coming with ideas on how you want your undead thread to come out, here are some prompts to play with!
It Was A Dark And Stormy Night
When is this taking place? Is your character about to stop by an old dark castle, even though the villagers beg and plead for them not to? Surely the pale but super sexy owner of that place will give you shelter for the night... and the rest of your nights. Or step out into modern society, where you can find werewolves and witches on Tinder. Do vampires hide their existence from mankind, casually live among them side by side, or rule over them with an iron fist? And is this something you'd like to change, or are you chill with the status quo? Add a dash of reincarnation if you'd like your love-story to be both tragic and confusing.
Fangs For The Memories
How does your vamp get their meals? Do they hunt and stalk their prey like a serial killer, easily buy it from their local blood bank, or is it a dance of seduction? Are they an ethical type to keep their victims alive, or have they tried to painfully go without it at all? Sure would suck (in all manners of ways) if they got hunger pangs around their friends. When they bite, is it painful? A turn-on? Can they lure their victims with hypnotism, or are there volunteers who are than willing to get nibbled on? If the latter, do they want to become a vampire themselves, and what's that process like? Lastly, maybe they don't drink blood at all - so what's the major addiction that makes them a monster?
The Hunter Becomes The Hunted
Stake your claim by taking down vampires personally! Are you a solo hunter trying to avenge humanity, or this part of the family trade? Maybe vampires are the good guys and the Hellsings belong in hell. What happens when the two fall in love? Which is stronger - bloodlust, or the regular kind? What sort of weaknesses do your vampires have? Classics include a desire to count spilled rice and no reflections, but who's to say you can't mix and match your favorite types while including some new ones! If you kill the head vampire, do the rest follow, or is it a massacre?
Rules For A Reason
We live in a SOCIETY, dang it! If vampires have a bigger claim in the world, perhaps they also set out standard cues that all must follow. Break them and endure unique consequences - your powers weaken, or higher-up vampires are allowed to chase you down. Maybe they're only allowed to turn certain people into vampires - or they'll kill to keep the undead from being in the public eye. How do they feel about fellow monsters - friend or foe? Is there a societal difference between being a turned vampire and one born naturally? Do they want to take over the world, or just live alone peacefully?
Ballroom Blitz
All right, this prompt is a tad more specific, but c'mon, who doesn't love a good haunting ballroom party where the guests of honor might also be dinner? Is the King of all Vampires here to choose a mate, or to choose lunch? Are the humans here to be toyed with, or honored and revered? Maybe they don't even know they were invited to their doom, and are snatched away in the cover of darkness. Make it romantic, make it horrific, but whatever you do, make it in high-heels and petticoats! Might want to avoid dancing near those mirrors, though.
